CONSERVATION PHILANTHROPY
A Voice for Innovation in Conservation
People + Place = Purpose
Conservation Philanthropy is a new community-based, place-based social venture launching on Earth Day 2025. The effort is established for a specific purpose to strengthen people and planet through philanthropy.
We are an early-stage startup, established to promote innovative conservation solutions by advancing our values of generosity, organizing, and voluntary action. We aim to serve the entire philanthropy ecosystem:
Funders and fundraisers
Grant-makers and grantees
Professionals and volunteers
Scholars and practitioners
YOU and YOUR NEIGHBOR!
We are here to build community, elevate voices, and bring together a diverse web of interconnected people who are passionate about protecting Mother Earth.
A new social venture
Conservation is at a crossroads. Today, Americans are looking for new ways to advance environmental conservation goals, understanding that policies and markets may fluctuate, but together, we are committed to pursue conservation solutions with innovative, community-based tools and strategies.
Generally, the idea is to structure this new organization like a community foundation, to unlock the full potential of the sector to innovate in new and creative ways.
Community Foundations are public charities, typically within a defined geography and/or cause. They act as a catalyst for change, connecting donors with nonprofits and focusing on long-term community needs.
Conservation means many things to many people. Each community should define its own conservation goals, whether it be in land and water protection, preserving biodiversity and wildlife, or investing in clean air and renewable energy.
We invite you to join us by staying informed (subscribe). We are currently working to establish Conservation Philanthropy as a nonprofit organization and we are seeking a fiscal sponsor and seed funding.
